For many battlefield casualties the peace and tranquility of St. Nicholas' Church must have provided a welcome haven after the carnage of the Western Front. The links that have continued over the years between New Zealand and Brockenhurst clearly show the respect held for the work done at the hospital and by the village people throughout the Great War. In 2016 the memorial window containing 100 year old photograph images was given by the New Zealand High Commission, London.
